When: Market mildly bullish Setup:
• Sell ATM Put (higher premium)
• Buy OTM Put (protection)
Example (Nifty at 20,000):
• Sell 19,800 PE @ ₹80
• Buy 19,600 PE @ ₹40
• Net credit: ₹40
• Max profit: ₹40 × 25 = ₹1,000
• Max loss: ₹1,500 (spread - credit)
When: Market mildly bearish Setup:
• Sell ATM Call (higher premium)
• Buy OTM Call (protection)
Example (Nifty at 20,000):
• Sell 20,200 CE @ ₹80
• Buy 20,400 CE @ ₹40
• Net credit: ₹40
• Max profit: ₹1,000
• Max loss: ₹1,500
When: Market range-bound Setup: Bull Put + Bear Call combined
Example (Nifty at 20,000):
• Sell 19,800 PE @ ₹80, Buy 19,600 PE @ ₹40
• Sell 20,200 CE @ ₹80, Buy 20,400 CE @ ₹40
• Net credit: ₹80
• Max profit: ₹2,000
• Max loss: ₹3,000
When: Low volatility expected Setup:
• Sell ATM Call + Sell ATM Put
Risk: Unlimited both sides. Advanced only.
When: Range-bound with buffer Setup:
• Sell OTM Call + Sell OTM Put
Risk: Unlimited. Requires margin.
